I managed to catch Shinedown, Pop Evil and Ayron Jones on their tour in Edmonton on Sunday Night on the long weekend and It was well worth it.
I’ve photographed Shinedown and Pop Evil before on separate occasions, but to see them both on tour at once was a thrill. Pure energy – that about sums it up.
That and I love pyro…
Planet Zero is a futuristic take on cancel culture. According to Eric Bass, bassist for Shinedown, he told Billboard Magazine “It seemed like there was zero intelligence, zero tolerance for anybody’s opinion, zero accountability for anything. We kinda looked at each other and were like, ‘Let’s write a song about what’s going on on planet zero.'”
Watching Shinedown is like watching a Broadway act, performing on cue as an orchestrated team, right down to the authenticity of the clothing.
Pop Evil "Eye of The Storm"
The last time I saw Pop Evil was back in 2016 in my hometown performing at a local fair, and I was totally blown away by the power of Leigh’s voice as well as his energy onstage. The band went through a few different members, but the same stage performance never faltered at all.

They finish with the Canadian leg of the tour on Aug 3 in Abbotsford, then head south to the U.S. after that.
Definately a band you must see, the energy is electrifying.
Ayron Jones
Ayron Jones was the opening act and set the mood for the show. He has a blend of Grunge, Rock and soul all into one package.
